1. How does visceral fat lead to chronic kidney disease ? Increased visceral fat accumulation causes adipose tissue inflammation and adipokine dysregulation , which can lead to dyslipidemia, insulin resistance,   renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) overactivation  ,   sodium retention , extracellular fluid volume expansion.
